I’ve always been fascinated by languages, having wanted to be an interpreter and translator since childhood. And I enjoy travelling, so for me a language is like a gateway into another culture and its way of thinking.
After completing my interpreting and translation studies in the early 1990s, I spent 15 years gaining professional experience with a number of companies. where I acquired a wealth of experience in many areas (corporate finance, human resources, IT, corporate communications, account management, insurance).
This included working for a number of years as a manager with a French travel insurance company.
I also spent two years running the Italian branch in Milan.
The resulting background knowledge and expertise has since stood me in excellent stead.
Since completing my postgraduate studies in conference interpreting at the ZHAW University of Applied Sciences and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences in 2006, I have been working as a self-employed conference interpreter and translator.
I’ve been living in Switzerland since 2001, which means I have no problem interpreting meetings conducted in dialect.
I am based in Zurich.
